Creating your own holistic morning routine
We've all heard it before - how you start your morning sets the tone for the rest of your day.
Here at Synthesis Organics, we have a firm belief in ensuring that we live the best we can to get that feel good factor! Mornings can be difficult, especially if you are of the stay in bed until the very last second variety (we know some of us are definitely guilty of that!).
However, you could be doing yourself a massive disservice that will stay with you throughout your day, potentially affecting your energy levels, mood, digestion and even your immune system. Giving yourself the time and space to wake up and start your day in peace could be all that it takes to see a dramatic difference in your wellbeing.
We're sure that you've heard this all before, and it can be hard to find the motivation to make these changes stick. But we promise that it will be worth it, and we've laid out some of the best practises that will radically alter your experience of your day!
Start your morning with a tisane The first thing to enter your body can have a profound impact on your digestion, positivity and energy. Active your insides with warm water to stimulate the gastrointestinal tract and peristalsis - the waves of muscle contractions within the intestinal walls that keep things moving. We recommend using either our Purify, Soothe or Brighten Beauty Tisanes - pick the one that matches your current mood state.
Centre your mind, body and soul Finding harmony in your morning ritual is essential for aligning the body with nature's rhythms and cultivating self-esteem alongside self-discipline. Set aside ten minutes for some quite quiet meditation or yoga to balance your inner self and savour the moment of stillness (especially if you know you have a busy day ahead).
Setting up some aromatherapy can also be incredibly beneficial, as you can deeply breathe in soothing aromas while focusing on mindfulness. Try using our Light Haven, Chakra Balance, Calm or Breath of Australia Synergy. Roll onto your palms, rub your hands together with intention, then breath in the aromas most suited to your day ahead.
Hydrate your skin Your skin will come under all kinds of stress during the day. Conflicting temperatures, toxins and pollutants, harsh winds and a busy environment will all have an impact. Set your skin up for success by supporting it early on, with the more hydration the better! Wash your face gently with pure, cool water and then show it how much it means to you through our Soothe creme, which will protect your skin throughout the day.
Nourish your body While it has always been important to start your day with breakfast, it is even more important to make sure you are choosing the right food! Eating large or heavy meals can slow you down from the start as your body will immediately have to devote energy to processing your food, which can make you feel sluggish and tired. We recommend starting with fresh green vegetable juice, fruits, low sugar greek yoghurts and light grains such as puffed quinoa or oats.
Set a purpose for your day If you find that you are lacking focus or becoming easily distracted throughout the day, try writing down your daily goals. This will centre your mind and give you something physical to focus on and refer back to. Not only that, by writing down what you want to achieve you can provide yourself with an increased sense of coherency and clarity. This will also help you prioritise your tasks, which will make you feel better about what you've achieved at the end of the day.
However, it remains important to remember that if things do go wrong and your morning does not stick to a plan, that is still okay! Things are going to happen that remain outside of your control, and the straightest path to inner peace is accepting this, and rather than dwelling on what you thought would happen, continue to move forward and make the best out of your day!
